problem with my camera on my phone?

every time i got to take a picture on my phone and as soon as i press capture, straight away it says its on standby. when i go to record a video it, straight away it says unable to save file. does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this plz my phone is nokia 5200

Have you checked how much memory you have left on the phone? It does sound like a phone fault though- try posting on a forum specific for your phone, or just walk it into the Carphone Warehouse and show them- they know everything!
