how much is the space required for operating systems in mobile phones,such as symbian and enbedded linux?plz try to answer it

Depends how you configure them. Between 32 and 128Mb as a guideline. I doubt they're more than 64 in practice though.
My Windows Mobile 2003 is currently taking up ~60mb but that is with quite a few installed apps, probably about 50mb without. Symbian, Linux, and Palm will be less =)
