Problems with internet explorer

Whenever I use the internet it disconnects when I open a new website and I have to reconnect. Does anyone know if this is due to a virus or is there an option that I have to change or something?

I assume that you dial up via modem to connect to the net. If so then this could be a result of netsky virus infection. The only way to know for sure would be to get a detection and removal tool, if you know someone who has a working internet connection, and a cdwriter, then you could get one this way.
