Click on start, select control panel. in there double click internet options. click on programs on the line of tabs at the top and you should see it says windows live next to email. click on the arrow and select outlook express and then click apply.
Then click on the start menu and it really should show outlook express.

Open up Internet Explorer
On the Tools menu select Internet Options. The Internet Options window is displayed.
Select the Programs tab.
In the second field down it says E:mail. In the box it will probably say "Windows Live Mail".
Select the small arrow to the right of the E:Mail field.
A small menu drops down showing two options: Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail.
Select Outlook Express and press OK to save your changes.
That should set Outlook Express as you default mail editor.
