Do I have to get the specific model number or can I use any toshiba 15.4" screen to relace it? I'm gonna do it myself cos its pretty easy, I just wanna make sure I order the right screen.
Could I use and other brand of 15.4" screen? (this I doubt cos the screws will be in different places probably)
If you feel confident to do the job yourself then fine but you could consider Note Book Bitz. They have a shop on eBay and, if you buy a replacement screen from them, they will fit the screen free of charge, you just pay the return postage.
Ebay, try and find the same laptop with a dead main board or similar fault that doesn't effect the screen, then you can just swap the screen including the casing, much simpler.
if not then although any screen from a similar aged 15.4 toshiba laptop that runs the same screen resolution would probably work you'd be better and safer to get one meant for your actual lappy.
chuck is almost certainly right
but (and it could be an expensive but ....)
if you are wrong .... you have a screen that you could have trouble returning - 'cause you'll only know when you've unpacked it
I don't know Ian1's suggestion ... but you'd guess that they'd fit the right one....
assuming it's a fair price ... I'd consider it
