Does anyone know how I can get a caller's number to appear when they ring me? All I get is a "call" display. It's really annoying because I don't know who to accept or decline.

The name will only display if you have the phone number calling saved in your contacts on the phone or on your sim card. If you have 2 numbers for the same person saved in your contacts that will also stop the display from showing you who's calling.

eg.
Mum home 1234567 and Mum mobile [phone] will show Mum when Mum rings but..

Mum 1234567 and Mum 7654321 will show "call" when Mum calls

Thanks for your help, but all my contacts have got 1 name to 1 number. I'll have to call the shop where it came from. I can see the spotty 18 year old laughing now!
