How can I see who has looked at my daughters Bebo site

Is there anyway I can see who has looked at my daughters Bebo website? Also can someone who doesn't have a profile see it and can I see who they are? I have access to her account. Thanx

You really think people will condone and assist you in snooping on your daughter. Maybe you have your reasons but it's snooping all the same.

Maybe I phrased that wrong. She is quite young and I just wanted to check it was all kids looking at it that's all.

Bebo provides an option for you to make your profile public or private. If you choose to have a public profile, anyone can view it.

Your profile does remain visible to users you have blocked although you can stop them viewing your photos by editing individual photo albums.

Even if you could see who was viewing your daughters site, you could never truly know whether they were an adult or not.

I do not have a child but if I did I would like to keep abreast of her email and computer antics.

However, I have no idea what Bebo is and am crap at computers so can not help.

You want the facility to know who has viewed your daughters profile. But at the same time you want to visit other profiles but are worried they'll know you've been looking.. so it seems. You can't have it both ways.

Just give it up and read a book instead.

I thought this was called the ANSWERBANK but have realised its not about answers, its about people's opinions. I'm on my own and looking out for my 13 year old daughter. Yeah if they are over 13 they can have a Bebo account. Obviously I came to the wrong place for advice. Thanks anyway.

If you know her Bebo log in details you could log in from time to time to keep an eye on what is going on.

Otherwise, you could create your own Bebo account to view her public profile.

The best thing you can do is make sure she fully understands the dangers of internet social sites, the best ways to protect herself and keep herself safe.

Create a bebo account for yourself so you can see exactly how it works and what goes on.

Thanks. I dont see what I am doing wrong. My daughter knows I have her login for Bebo - that was the deal. I ask an innocent question and am left to feel like a bad parent. Guess you cant win sometimes. wont be using this site again thats for sure.

There's nothing wrong with the site Wee L, it's just some of the people on it. I have 2 daughters and know what you're going through. The society that I like to think I'm part of would wonder if you weren't bothered about her. You can just imagine which part of society some of the members on here come from can't you.

I don't know about Bebo, but generally I don't believe you would be able to find out who is looking at such sites. If you could, how would you know if the details they declare are true anyway? Those that you should worry about are unlikely to have told the truth anyway.

Your best approach is to educate her of the dangers. I would also suggest that if you do trust her, then at 13 she might appreciate it if you tell her this, and reduce your direct checking of her activities. It might pay dividends in the long run.

I cannot believe how harsh some ABers are on a parent seeking to protect their child. It is as if these people resent the purpose of the site!
If we just take the IT out of the equation , and say Wee L wants to know who daughter is seeing down the youth club. Wants to know what kind of vibe she's giving out. Every caring parent would have that concern.
All that is happening is an electronic version of this, except we know for a fact that pervs patrol social networking sites looking for fresh meat. They are easier to spot and deal with round the youth club but specialise in blending in online.
Wee L, do like Ethel suggests, and in addition ensure computer is used in a family room where everyone is around and no secrets.

Thanks to all of you who understand my concerns - you know who you are! 'm not bothered by what she and her pals are doing on Bebo - I trust her and she knows that. It is just the strange people out there you cant be sure of. I dont mind if others can see I have looked at their profiles - I have nothing to hide. I dont want it both ways! Ta
