186,300 miles per hour is the speed of light. That's not the question. If you mean how fast are the electrons travelling in the current than, the electrons travel at about 10^6m/s rather than light hich is 3x10^8m/s http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/COURSES/FIRST_YEAR/pdf%20files/E lectric%20current.pdf
Although the drift velocity of electrons is 10^6 ms-1 they only travel about 10-9 m before hitting something. Typically electrons flowing in a dc circuit travel about 3mm every second. Actually, this does not matter as electricity is "instant" just like turning on a tap.
