connecting my laptop wirelessly

can any one help me connect the kids laptop to my wireless router i cant seem to do it im with tiscali and my router is a siemens gigaset se587 4 port wireless router.......cant find the original set up disc but someone told me i didnt need it anyway...are they wrong? the kids have windows xp any help would be appreciated

ah just done a search on it although it is wireless it doesnt have a card fitted as standard i obviously need one

yes tahts the one it has a wireless key third from power on/off button

And if you press that key, what happens? Sometimes you have to press the FN key as well

That made me laugh.

I see the usb ports are 1.1 rather than usb 2, so I would go for the card.

It's a lot older than 2 years, I'm sure. The specs are quite low

Have a look at your device manager (we've looked there already this morning) and see exactly what it says.

If you have a windows key on the keyboard (sort of 4 squares) press that and the pause/break key for quick access.

yep ill pop down comet in a bit its the black slot on the left hand side credit card sort of size isnt it???

Yes, make a note of that and check that what you buy is going to be compatible.
