Another senior moment. I have a PB HOME WINDOWS XP EDITION Computer and although I can copy and play CD's OK I seem to be able to do the same with a DVD. We have a DVD slideshow with music we can display on the TV but appear unable to play/copy/ it on the computer. Any help will be appreciated thanks

Unlike cds Win XP doesn't handle dvds easily you will need Nero or some other dvd writing software to copy home made dvds. As for playing, most pcs ship with appropriate software to play them but if yours didn't then vlc should do the trick and will play many more file types too.

How old is the machine? It may not have a DVD capable drive.

Thanks for the replies. The computer is 3 years old. I did look at the website recommended by pug100 but being a wrinklie was scared of by the warning about bugs/holes.
BJs (interesting name - initials or preference ? ;-)

Being wrinkly isn't an excuse ...
this is easy stuff .... stop thinking .... just do it .... then you can think about it later (smugly!)

3 years old ... it should be a dvd player
look closely at the front of the drawer .... it should sat DVD on it

It probably is just a player that's needed - I like this one
just click on download link below ... then when the little
Run - save - cancel window appears
click run

the file will download and then another window asks if you wand to run .... click run
then click next, next .... agree - and you are done
