Someone has put some albums in mp3 format on a DVD for me . It plays ok on a pc with Windows NT but not on my laptop with XP (which plays DVDs with no problems). I get a message "Disk not formatted. Windows cannot read fron this disk. The disk may be corrupted or is using a format that is not compatable with windows"
(Sorry, had to re-post this one so it appears in the unanswed section )
It is possible that when your friend put the MP3s on the DVD-R (maybe?) (s)he left it open (multisession). Your NT machine may have the right software installed (Nero?) whereas your laptop doesn't. Even though XP has CD writing capabilities, it's pretty cr@p compared to dedicated stuff.
I took my laptop into PC world as I was entitled to full health check. They can see nothing wrong with computer, the disk will play on some of their machines not others and all they can come up with is that it's a cheap quality disk. I'm getting someone to copy it to see if that works.
