widescreen on a normal size laptop

My son recently wiped my computer and now I find that my computer screen is showing everything in widescreen, if you know what I mean, I find it a real pain in the a**e. Does anyone know how I can get it back to normal. Thanks, Kath.

Right click anywhere on your desktop background and select properties, then select the settings tab and adjust the slider marked screen resolution to a to a setting that looks right.

If your unable to set the resolution to one that looks right then you may not have your video card drivers installed, in which case goto the manufactures website and download and run run the video/graphics drivers.

Hi ChuckFickens, you are a star, my screen is now back to normal. As you can see from my posting I am still having problems with my computer but with the help of people like yourself and other ABers I know that help is only a posting away. Many thanks, Kath.

I wouldn't let any child near a PC of mine whether for work or for home use. I might just be very mean but in the long run it only takes a minute for them to bu88er it up good and propper!!

They all have IT lessons at school. Let them bu88er up the school's PCs!!!

BubbleNspeak, this child of mine is 38 years old and I just left him to it, I didn't think about whether there would be any problems later as he had done someone elses computer with no problems (or so he said), anyway I have all you lovely ABers to fall back on. Kath.
