I have recorded some sound using windows sound recorder and now want to edit it. i want to chop a few seconds off the beginning and the end. It used to be an option on sound recorder but on windows vista there are no options except record sound. can anyone help? Thanks

No it's not rubbish - at least in this context
it's an operating system ... operating systems make your PC able to run programs
(it's a bit like getting a door key for B&Q - the key lets you in .... you it's up to you to buy the tools and decide how you are going to use them - is it a hammer for building a fence .... or a boat?)
windows has a few very basic added extras like sound recorder ... a couple of simple games a calculator ...
I love hearts .... but you wouldn't say that it's a rubbish games machine would you?
everything that's added is available bigger and better from specialist software firms ... I don't do records ... so I don't want to be paying for a flashy sound editor - I just want windows
