Running Cost of Lights

Can someone please tell me how to work out the hourly cost of running some Christmas lights , I now there must be a formula but I don't know how to work it out.

The total wattage of the lights is 5585w and the electricity costs 14.5p kwph -

You have over five kilowatts of christmas lights ?!

Each hour the lights will use 5.585 KWhrs Multiply this by 14.5 pence and you have your hourly figure.

5585w! That's 5 and a half bars on an electric fire. Sorry but have to know, are you asking on behalf of the City of Westminster in readiness for wiring up Oxford Street this year?

5585W = 5.585KW
5.585 x 14.5 p = your cost per hour. (About 81p per hour)

No it's the total wattage of lights in a village centre lol! Made up of

Braid Lights 15 x 115w = 1725

Stalactites 8 x 150w = 1200

Ceilings of Light 14 x 190w = 2660

Total wattage = 5585

The sum will be 5.585 X 14.5 = 81p per hour

you can enter the tariff ... it gives you the cost

Thanks ACtheTroll that's a good idea - the lights are connected to individual businesses and the Business Partnership refunds what ever is used but there is always a dispute, that would solve the problem.
