Computer bought in Korea doesn't work in Venezuela

Help! I bought my Samsung desktop in Korea. It worked in Azerbaijan. Now I live in Venezuela. I got it out of the box, switched it on and nothing. Someone told me I might need a transformer - is this worth trying?

Most desktops have a little recessed switch next to where you plug the power lead in to set the input voltage make sure you have that set for the correct voltage for the country your using it in.

It looks as if Korea uses 220 volts and Venezuela 110, so you would need a step up transformer to boost the mains voltage to that which the computer is expecting if it isn't switchable. You need to know how many watts the computer draws as this will affect which transformer is suitable, should be on a plate near the power cord.
