i'm a complete computer novice - my daughter regularly uses my laptop and when i log back on loads of pop up messages appear. I've since banned her from using my laptop (she has her own which she says is slower ytha mine) but how doi erase all the crap she's installed on my computer???? Cheers for any advice!

If she logs on as "daughter" then she has her own browser and computer settings. Any pops ups will appear when she has logged on as HER but YOU wont get them when you log on as YOU.
She could also have her own wallpaper (background photo) and change other settings that wont effect YOUR settings.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add Remove programs, and remove any programs that look like junk.
Go to Internet Explorer and then Tools -> Internet Options. Under "Browsing history" click "Delete" and then "Delete" again. These instructions are for Internet Explorer 8. Older versions of Internet Explorer have a similar way to delete cookies, temporary files and history.
