Deleted files on DVD HDD

Does anyone know if it's possible to retreive deleted programmes from a HDD? My nephew had 39 hours of recordings and has deleted them by mistake.

Is 2GB ram enough?

Try this...............I'm sure there are many more.

When files are deleted - they're still there - just marked as deleted.
Don't use the machine until you've tried to recover the files. While they are marked, any program can overwrite them if it needs the space. Good luck

I don't think this dvd recorder is connected to a pc though - it's a stand alone connected to a tv.

Oops, problems if it is in a PVR. As a last (?) resort, take the HD out and either install it in a PC (then use recuva etc.) or invest in a lead or unit that can attach a HD to a PC via USB (see Maplin and Aria).
