invention / costs ?

hi,
i have sent my invention off to innovate and inventions uk...both companies have sent me letters,they like the idea...invent uk want me to come to milton keynes for a meeting,to go over costa and all details of the process.......invent uk director stated he really liked it...but they want 800 to do a search...also i patent it myself,and pay for any drawings and prototype myself....

i was led to believe that if the companies liked the idea they would pay costs for a cut of the royalties....i firmly believe in my idea whole heartedly...i know its going somewhere...i just havent got any money...i have 2,000 in my bank...is there a possibility of a con /scam? this company has been going 23 yrs now...i dont thinkm there is but why if they think its good are they not going to back me with costs? thanks

Becareful. I read in the Daily Mirror years ago Sir Alan Sugar often advises people with ideas to stay away from Invention companies where they will often build up the hopes of innocent people encouraging them to pay ridiculous fees. Eventually, they come up with some excuse for not succeeding.

I suggest you google 'invention company scam'.
