How many picturec can I store on CD-R

I have a Kodak digital camera with 4 megapixels and I would like to know how many pictures I can store on a CD-R 52x speed, 700MB, 80 Minutes? If you can suggest which CD is the best or on which CD can I download the most pictures? Thank you

why dont you check the size in Mb's of one 4mp picture and then divide that into 700Mb ? this will then tell you approx how many pics will fit onto 1 disc you could also zip them up of course to squeeze a few more on

All CD's with the same capacity will store the same amount of pictures, but you see capacities ranging from 640 to 800mb. I have found the Infiniti spindle of 100 CDR's from Jessops (I think they're around �15 these days) a good buy - haven't had a duff one yet! Amazon are currently offerring 100 CDRs for �10.99 + p&p, but I don't know what they're like. The size of each of your pics will vary, but if you follow Mattk's advice and take an average size you should be able to get a rough idea. As well as zipping the photos, you could also use various bits of software to compress the photos, but at 15p/disc it's hardly worth the effort.

If u are wanting to keep the photos for a long time i suggest u get some quality cd-rs (have individual boxes and are from rep makers Maxell,Sony etc) ...and then make two copies ...keep one handy for daily stuff and keep one up away from the computer...in a safe place... put the cds into their boxes when not in use.... I also use cdrw's for daily stuff....good luck...
