Help please Ethel if you're around . My step-father hasn't got any internet at his home but when one of my relatives was there last year he had a thing stuck out of the usb port on his lappy and was able to use the net , though it was his company lappy . Could you tell me if I can purchase anything like this to enable me to log on at his home ? xxx

Yes you can, most of the major mobile phone companies do them.

But a broadband connection using the phone line is more stable, faster and probably cheaper

probably not Sara, they are essentially mobile phones so they are subject to the same restrictions that are placed on mobiles.

I was able to use mobile tinty netty when I was in hospital last year, and we were allowed to use our mobile phones too - and charge them bedside. Check with the hospital

Be careful on the small print. If you exceed your Gb download limit you could be saddled with a bill in the �100's.

Bigmamma surely you must have heard of me speaking about my dongle on here.

Beware though it may be called a broadband dongle but the connection is very very slow you struggle to even stream a you tube link with them.

I am with 3 and I got my one for free and the connection because I am already a 3 customer is half price at �7.50 a month for 3 gigs download and that is more than ample enough time a month
