Panasonic Lumix DMCTZ5
2 Answers
My Fuji camera recently broke down whilst in France. Most of my pics are landscapes inc. mountains, lakes etc. For this reason I would love a compact digital camera with a wide angle lens. the one camera that keeps on coming up is the Panasonic Lumix DMCTZ5. The price seems fair. Nearly all the reviews are outstanding. Would this be a good camera for me to buy? Any comments or suggestions gratefully received, this camera really does look good. Thankyou in advance for any help.

if it looks good, sounds good, fits your pocket (in all senses of the word) why not?
a touchy feely session would be good - jessops perhaps?
panasonic isn't perhaps the first name that comes to mind in the same sentence as photography - but neither does it go with rubbish - the reviews are good - and from "propper" magazines
the only downside I can see is the bit about taking it to france! ;-|

Guy at work bought the TZ5 and is very happy with it, it has, as you know, a good wide angle lens and adequate zoom (not a super-zoom). It also has a very good ie. short, shutter delay which many compact cameras don't have. As per AC's suggestion go and have a play with one, if you can't find the TZ5 in a high street store the TZ4 is much the same to handle/operate and if you like that, well the TZ5 is better :-)
