Floppy drive 'chatter'

Everytime I load or close my PC running Windows ME, the floppy drive 'cahtters' away for about 10 seconds then everything carries on as normal. I'm assuming its a virus or something? Any ideas?

It could be anti-virus software that's configured to scan removable media on startup/shutdown. It can normally be turned-off.
It is - mine does that since I've installed virsu protection - it's nothing to worry about.
