Can anyone tell me how to correct this very annoying problem (I hope I have the terminology right). When I open MS Word, the screen gives me a blank document and I constantly have to go back to 'home'. How can I open it to 'home' as default? I hope that makes sense.
Thanks a lot

well you got the first bit right - and anoying problem is indeed called an anoying problem ;0

what you describe is typical for word - a nice shiney new document.

but just exactly what you mean by "home" is less obvious
I'm having a bit of a thick moment (I'm sure someone else already knows exactly what you do you mean)

home - top LHS of the document?
or word open - no document?
or something else

if its the first - you'll need to edit
C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\normal.dot

use file | open <change the "files of type" to document templates (*.dot)

then delete the "rubbish" from the top of the page - save - shut down ... and that should do it

Does this mean that Word 2007 will open with the pull down menus/toolbars at the top? This is what I want to be able to do.
Many thanks.
