Printing a CD with Canon Pixma MP610
8 Answers
I'm trying to print directly onto a CD on my Canon Pixma MP610 printer. I have made a label in CD Label print and loaded the CD into the tray, but every time I try to print it I get an error message stating the inner cover is open. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but it seems you have to have the inner cover open in order to load the CD tray...? Can anyone help?

Hi Lol
I recently bought the same MFP and have printed a couple of DVDs. I don't know what you are doing wrong, but have you checked the printing preferences before trying to print ? I forgot to close the inner cover after printing the DVDs and got the same message as you. Keep trying !!
BTW, 7dayshop.com has great prices for cartridges at the moment for this printer - about 3 per cartridge cheaper than anywhere else.
Good luck

I got in touch with Canon who suggested turning the printer off at the plug and leaving it off for at least half an hour to allow it to reset itself. It didn't work though, so it looks like there may be a fault with the sensors inside the printer which tell it there is a disc tray loaded. I think it's gonna have to go off to the menders. I've only printed about 10 discs with it.
