Over charging???

I have just bought a new 32Ah battery for golf and a 4Ah charger as well After the initial charge of 24 hrs subsequent charges should take approx.6-7 hrs,but it's taking 12hrs.Any suggestiond anyone as why this is????? Thanks

have you got the charger higher than the battery?

What do you mean by higher,sitting above the battery or a high charger setting/(which cannot be done)If the first can you explain why?

I meant higher than the battery so the ikkle leccies will pour into the battery faster

but if the charger is the type I'm thinking about - they are tough - relatively hi current constructions - and not particularly precision made

The rule of thumb used to be stop charging when the indicator says it's full - I don't ever remember times being quoted for lead acid cells - other than in days.

and you won't damage anything
