I have sky plus in the main room, and a sky box connected to a tv/video combi in the bedroom.

Apparently. sky send a signal switching the sky+ box off, and programmes in the main room still record, even if the box is off. However, in the bedroom, the box is switched off, and any programmes are not recorded.

Any ideas how I can overcome this. Can I ask sky NOT to send a signal to disconnect, or do I just pull out the telephone cable from the box?

Auto Standby is a feature of Sky+ and Sky+HD but not of standard Sky Digital so I do not understand why your other Sky digibox would go into standby. Sky would not send a standby signal to these digiboxes for the reason you give i.e. it would interfere with video recordings.

Thank you kempie. I didn't know that standby was only on sky plus !! I must be doing something wrong, but thanks for the information sent.
