downloading music

i've just bought a new laptop and want to download music for free, i have norton anti virus on it and when i tried to get kazaa norton didn't allow it. is there another programme i can get to download music that would get past norton and wouldn't mess up my comp?

Norton probably won't allow it because Kazaa is full of spyware. Your best bet is to find the music off sites rather than getting a program because with stuff like that free doesn't necessarily mean free.

Dj ajax is right about Kazaa , it's riddled with viruses and spyware. Almost all freeware comes bundled with spyware. I found the best programme to use is ARES lite. Once dowloaded use a programme such as Adaware to remove most spyware. I've had no problem with viruses from ARES and the spyware is not paticularily malicious.
