why wont my card reader work in my laptop
7 Answers
Please help,my wee boy locked my micro sd memory card for my phone by changing the code, and he doesnt know what code was put in.There is loads of photos on it and videos of all my kids since they were babies.I phoned my network and they said there is nothing can be done by them but they said if i buy a card reader for my pc then i wont be asked for the passcode, enabling me to back up the stuff on the card to my pc before formatting the card.Problem is ive bought a card reader,USB type, and when i click my computer i can see the device which is named "E removable device" but when i click that it tells me to insert a disc into drive E,the sd card is inserted so why is this happening,i thought the reader was faulty or not compatible so i bought another one and the same is happening,on both card reader packaging it says that no driver is required for what im running which is xp home.
Its driving me up the wall, and various searches on the net have told me nothing.please rescue me,before i go mad.

Also there is a wee slider on the side but ive tried that too and just the same thing happens.its something to do with my pc as surelt 2 readers cant be faulty.

If you have tried the tip that Elsie suggested and you cant get into the card then it seems that your little boy has enabled a password in which case without this password you will never access the card no matter how many card readers you try.
I know some people have solved this problem by downloading a file manager to the phones memory and then accessing the files holding the passwords.
If you have a local independent mobile phone shop try asking them for advice they may be able to access it for you for a small fee.
