i have a pentax optio 50, and almost every shot i take on it - even when i lean on something comes out blurry...

my other camera, and my phone shots come out fine so i know its not just me with a wobbly hand...

does anyone know if there is a setting or something i need to adjust in order to stop this?? I have set all the usual ones to highest quality etc - or is it just a super sensitive camera...and therefore largely useless!

many thanks

One review I read says that this model does have a shutter lag issue, so it could be you're moving it before the shutter's done its job properly. Try leaning against something solid or resting the camera on a wall or table before you press the shutter button.

Also, does your other camera have a 'traditional' viewfinder as opposed to the screen type that the Optio has? I find I'm not so good with the latter, especially when I'm using a lightweight camera.
just had a similiar problem with an olympus been no problem until recently when 90% of the pics are coming out blured. I know it sounds obvious and i really couldnt see anything major on the lens but a good clean seems to have cured it.
My thinking behind it ,rightly or wrongly is any bit of dirt etc. causes the auto focus to latch onto that rather than the scene being taking

The blurring is not smudging or smearing though...it is as though there are 2 of the images...very slightly anyway... right next to each other...but not regualrly enough for it to be a misaligned lens or anything...its as tho even the most minute movement causes a large 'double vision' effect....

i have tried leaning on things but it still happens...i will try waiting longer before i eventually move tho...incase it is as you say that it appears to be 'finished' before it actually has.

thansk
Check that it is not set to macro (an icon that looks like a flower on most cameras)
If it's still under warranty, take it back to the shop and ask them to have a look at/fix/replace it.

it is not set to macro, its set to infinity - there is also STD. - which i assume means standard - should i perhaps have it set on that? - i am only using it for general shots of friends etc....

also there is an icon with a little sportman on it..i assume for takin action shots...any idea if setting it to this will perhaps take away the blur....?

thanks
