Can anyone recommend an ink saver programme please?
One advertised on Amazon, but reviews say you only buy a trial period, then have to pay more for the total package.
Thanks in advance

No need to buy any software to do this most (if not all) printers have the option of setting them to Draft/Toner Saving mode via the Printing Preference options (which can be set as the default mode should you want)
I managed to get Inksaver from Serif Extra for 9.99 with a working code. Unfortunately, they are sold out and are not going to get any more (may be a reason why - see below). The Amazon one seems to be a rip-off - read the reviews carefully.

I used Inksaver for quite a while and it was very good BUT ... I hadn't printed across my wireless network for a while. When I came to do this, I think that Inksaver had messed with my settings and stopped me printing. I've now uninstalled it (pity!).

I might revisit it sometime, I'm sure I was saving quite a lot of ink.

Thanks guys, confirmed my suspicions.
Had a look at printer settings after I posted question and found I can print in "Fast/Draft", so may set that as default.
Reviews of ink saver programmes do indeed mention the problems that seem to arise, so I don't think I'll bother.
Cheers
Willowman - just found out that Serif are now pushing a product called ecoprint:-
