Sony Blue-Ray free disc offer?

Hi i purchased a sony blue ray player in mid december but have only now just connected it as i was awaiting a HD tv to use it with but when i went to register the product with the disc that came with it to redeem 2 free blue ray movies it says the promo is finished although the small print for eligibility for the offer says as long as the product is bought between 15/9/08 and 15/1/09 and any claim is submitted before 31/1/09.Is this a glitch or are sony obligated to supply these discs.I still have the receipt which states it was purchased on 22/12/08
