If I buy a computer case and power supply (PSU) in the USA, will it work ok in the UK if I just use a power lead with the correct plug?

Almost certainly NOT. Most of the USA uses electricity at 60HZ 110Volts - the UK is 50HZ 240V. Some low-power things will work (like the charger for my camcorder) both here and the US but a computer won't.
I second that Feroxy,

I strongly doubt it will work over here. Best not to risk it.
