Just got an ipod touch and after horendous issues with my PC (it just wont be recognised by my PC at all even after ringing Apple), i finally got it to work on my laptop.

I'm having another issue now though. How on earth do i connect wirelessly to my wireless router ??, i was under the impression i only needed to enter the wifi routers code and it would link up.

On the touch i went to:

Settings - WiFi, and here it indeed found my wireless router (named "OrangeBB"), however, when i enter the 22 digit code from the router (the WEP key) at the "Enter Password" prompt it says "Unable to join the network Orange BB", why is this ?, it is definitely the correct WEP key as i have confirmed it on my PC.

When the touch says "Enter Password" does it actually mean the WEP key ??

All the best,
Andy

Sorry, sorted it now !! - of course the router had to be in "discovery" mode !

Sorry to hear the set up didn't go smoothly. Hope the fun you will have will quickly help you forget that.

Cheers Gromit, yeah it's great but i would love to be able to get it working on my main PC because it has a much bigger screen !

Incidentally does anyone know how to get it working ??. It is not being recognised when i plug it into the USB on my main PC. I rang apple and they finally put it down to USB driver update ??? - i have tried all USB ports and it says "Add New Hardware", but i aim it to c:\windows\INF (as apple told me) but this doesn't solve it.

My PC is an Advent T9317 and i cannot find the updated USB drivers anywhere. That could be the issue, i'm not sure.

Any help greatly welcome !!

Best Regards,
Andrew
XP or Vista?

Make sure you're plugging it straight into a USB port, ideally on the back of the machine, not the front. Don't use a hub.

Also, try switching your machine off, unplugging all USB, then switching the machine back on again and opening iTunes. Then plug in just the iPod (no other USB devices to confuse), and see if it works.
