I have Sky+ in one room and ordinary Sky Box in another room,I also have "Multiroom" and obviously double LNB. My Brother has given me his old Sky+ Box as he now has Hi-Def, Will I be able to replace my Basic Sky Box with one I received from him,or will I have to contact Sky.? Many Thanks for any replies.
You can plug it in to where your normal Sky box is, but without speaking to Sky you'll only be able to watch one thing at a time and record that channel - it's just like a video recorder. You'll need the second feed from the dish to use the Sky+ box effectively
Just read your replies again. I have the 2nd feed already to Basic Sky Box and believe if you have Multiroom Sky+ is free, does this make any difference to your replies?
Hi 'everhelpful' ...you are right ! ..if you have sky+ and pay multiroom ...if qualifies you to have sky+ in the other room.
You can connect the sky+ box (you say you have the two LNB feeds) and will work as a standard box even though it has 'high definition capability. However for it to function as sky+ you have to contact sky to authorise the 'set-up' and will send you a new card (although they may be able authorise using the card from your old sky box)
