TV picture on Sky is breaking up badly; worse in adverts but spreading to programmes too now. Is it likely to be an aerial problem, so that we need to get someone to reorientate dish, or might it be the satellite in which case there's nothing we can do? (Tried to post this a few minutes ago, but it disappeared into the ether).
I had the same thing and it was because the dish had got out of alignment due to high winds. dish only has to move a fraction - got my TV man out and he fixed it in a jiffy. my sky dish was on a pole in the ground I( live in a listed building sand can't fix it to cottage) so before he came out we concreted it is with postcrete and so far all is well.
Picture breakup can occur during heavy rainfall. Otherwise might be dish. Keep a record of worst instances and give Sky a call.......they might confirm if there were any transmission probs at those times.
Make sure you still have line of site from the dish (no buildings or trees in the way blocking the signal). You can easily see where the dish is pointing.
Try cleaning the actual dish. A good Sky signal requires it to "bounce" off the dish into the LNB. If the dish is dirty the signal may not be of high quality.
You can test your signal strength, press the Services button on your remote control and find the place where it tells you your signal strngth and signal quality.
