When you first signed up to the bbc site you will have created a unique username and password. this may have been stored on your old PC as a website cookie.

Your new machine will not have this cookie on it so the BBC don't recognise you. You will need to sign in with your old username and password. If you have forgotten these you will need to create a new username and your old recipes will be lost.

thanks Richard. This site doesn't need you to sign in and I didn't need to register
Hi, I have been playing with the BBC recipe book for a while and your right no sign in needed for the recipe bit. The issue then is that you will have had a cookie on your old pC that the BBC recognized whenever you went to it and from this it knew it was you and displayed your recipes.

Unless you have a way of accessing your old machine and copying the cookie over to the new one then they are lost.

Sorry

thanks again Richard
i don't think I explained fully. When you are on the bbc food site and go to say recipes from any programme you are invited to click on to "move to recipe folder" I do this and although the page opens the recipe clicked is not there. It is hard to explain but give it a try and see if you have any success
