Outlook 2003 'as the meeting organizer you do not need to respond to the meeting

We use Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003. When one of our users tries to accept a meeting invite she gets the message 'as the meeting organizer you do not need to respond to the meeting'.
She is not the meeting organiser and just wants to accept the invite she has been sent.
Does anyone know how to solve this please?
