Following a recent computer crash, every time my computer starts up I get a message "error in Msdos.sys file. Autoscan =0" It doesn't seem to affect things but comes up every time. Any Ideas?

MSDOS.SYS is a configuration file. You can look at it with NOTEPAD and edit it. Mine says AutoScan=1 (which, Ithink, means 'do a scandisk after a crash'). Maybe you just need to change the S in Autoscan to upper case?
Thinking about this some more, I would advise you to set 'AutoScan=1' which will reun SCANDISK and reduce the risk of disc corruption after a future crash
