There is one person who is absolutely brilliant at helping people out with these kind of problems Mrs C. Buenchico has to be the most helpful person ever.
He certainly gave me a lot of help in fixing my Outlook Express problems.
It's almost 100% mended now,thanks to him.
So,I'll cross my fingers for you,and hope that he will see your problem. It depends if he is logged on AB tonight.
If not,he might hopefully see your post some other time.
Good luck!
Thanks very much, Imo & Ice. You're right, Chris is ace.
Heck Ice, I've just had a look at that page you've posted and it seems very complicated. I am hopeless with technology and need an idiot's guide to problem-solving.
if that looks ok
unplug all your phones ans try again ... if no change you need to disconnect ALL the internal wiring and onl connect the router to the first socket.
if still no change it's your line - report to bt ... if it settles down ... it's your internal wiring - and it's a case of trial and error connecting each socket in turn 'till the fault reappears.
Keeps coming and going is pretty much the classic symptom of a line fault. Though if you have another ADSL filter (one plugged into another socket will do) swap it for the one the router is plugged into to see if it helps at all.
Thanks very much Chuck, I will have a go at swapping the filters round myself and see if it helps. Otherwise I think mr.chappie will have to check the wiring out.
I've just realised I didn't check whether I spelled weather or whether it was wrong ... (blush)
"sometimes" faults are the worst kind ... 'cause "sometimes" you find them .... sometimes not.
mrs c ... a possible "spur" for hubby is that bt will charge 100+ if it turns out to be your phones or wiring.
the big problem is that the new fangled sockets have wierd connectors ... so they come out easy ... but tring to get them back !!!!!
if it comes to that ...
the propper tool is 15.00 from B&Q (there is a plastic version ... but they don't work)
lol no-knowledge - happy to meet you ... does what it says on the tin?
