iPod and Sony (not a comparison!)

If I get the ipod and my mate gets the Sony HD1, will we both be able to transfer our cds to our players via one pc without ripping twice or losing quality? Can this be doe solely in Sonic Stage or similar?

Yup. Once you have ripped in a lossless e.g full cd bitrate. You can transfer them to your respective aac/atrac players without loss in quality. I would suugest that you both get ipods though solely for the fact that I just bough my significant other a HD1 (she's a minidisc fan) and it's crap compared to my ipod!!
