I use firefox so can anyone tell me why I'm getting internet explorer pop up's?

And how can I stop them?

Do you have internet explorer installed?

Many adverts are designed to look like internet explorer, xp or other such things. I have a computer running Windows 98SE and that used to get get pops up that looked like XP windows. Although, it looks lke internet explorer, it's probably not.

Oh ok. I do have it installed but can't sign on to this site from it for some reason. Also found it very slow...!!!

Do I just have to download a pop up blocker then?

This has only been happening over the last few days. When I try to close the pop up nothing happens then I get the windows 'do you want to close/restart this programme' thingy.

Open Internet Explorer
>Tools
>Select pop-up blocker
>Turn on the pop-up blocker.
