How do I transfer my music off of my i-pod?
5 Answers
A while ago my laptop completely died along with all of the music that was stored on it, I have two 30mb i-pods with the music stored on them but one of them has crashed and i'm worried the other ones on the way out too. How do I transfer the music off of the i-pod and back into i-tunes on my new laptop, I heard its possible. Any ideas ?

another way plug your ipod in the USB as you normally would and in "My Computer" there will be an additional drive appear. (removeable storage). double click and you should see the contents of the ipod and be able to copy and paste them elsewhere.
let me know how you get on

That won't work. You are only "supposed" to put music on an ipod, not take it off. You need some other software to be able to get music off, try yamipod

yamipod works fine and is free. You don't even need to install it, just enable disk use on the ipod and save the .exe file on the ipod itself, then double-click to run it (so you can get your tunes onto any PC with minimal fuss)
It's widely recommended on sites such as this as and has been around for a while so I wouldn't worry.
