pop up blocker

Hi, my pop up blocker in tools is switched on but they just eep coming, any ideas? K.

There are two types of pop-up. The 'ordinary' type is generated by a specific website when you visit it. Simply using a decent browser, such as Firefox, with its own built-in pop-up blocker should get rid of those:

However it's also possible that a malicious software has found its way onto your computer which is generating pop-ups which are actually stored on your own PC. (i.e. they can be displayed irrespective of the website you're viewing or, sometimes, even when you're off-line). To get rid of those, first run a full anti-virus scan. Then run scan with Adaware and/or Spybot:

thanks Chris will try that, they seem to be popping up on different sites and believe it or not more so on answerbank lol. i will go do a full scan now then try the other things, will let you know how i get on, thanks K.
