Hiya,

I have quite an old tv (big and no way a flat screen, I would say over 10 years old). Anyway I bought a freeview box for it and it doesnt seem to work (it just comes up 'no signal').

Anyone got any ideas on what might be up with it?

Sounds like you've not go a freeview signal, either your in an area that's not got it yet or your aerial isn't good enough and may need upgrading. (you have plugged the TV aerial into the freeview box haven't you?)
Do you live in an area that is capable of receiving freeview?

Have you got a good enough aerial?
The age of the TV is irrelevant. Have you connected your freeview box to the TV with a Scart lead or has your television not got one.The Freeview box will have to be tuned in to all the available Channels.

Yeah I have plugged bot the scart lead and the aerial in but still no good. I have checked and my area should be ok for freeview. If its relevant then the aerial that I've got is a cheap rubbishy one. Do you suggest a new aerial or perhaps one of those aerial boosters you can buy?
When I got my freeview I had to have an aerial upgrade...
You have Aerial problems! Go out and purchase a new outdoor Aerial which is suitable for Digital (Freeview) otherwise you will not receive anything. At a later date you can always go out and purchase a new TV when finances allow!
