Pleeeeaaase help! Home videos won't play properly on pc

I have a digital camcorder but whenever i try to play my videos on my pc they are very inconsistant. Although the sound runs well without any breaks, the picture keeps freezing and so doesn't match the sound. I have played these videos on other computers and they work fine, so i'm sure it's something simple that needs to be changed or installed on my pc. I have installed quick player, vlc media player and flash player but still no change. Any ideas??? It's driving me mad!
