For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I did say temporarily on turning off the firewall, I appreciate that it is there for your protection, but 5 mins while you download mediaplayer 10 is not going to cause your pc to magically catch a virus.
I found on downloadin sp2 that this was ecatctly the problem I had and turning it off was the only way to upgrade to media player 10.
If you want to turn it off temporarily, you can find the setting in control planel - windows firewall,
Like the rather paranoid user above has said though, it is a good idea to keep it on usually though.
