Norton Problem

Seem to be having a problem everytime Norton Internet 2009 is doing a full scan it freezes the computer at various stages. Norton can't seem to solve it - got chat rooms open all over the place - any ideas?

Anyone know of any free antivirus software (or links to sites) that are any good

Uninstall Norton using removal tool

& then either http://www.avast.com/

or http://free.avg.com/

both free & in general considered as good if not better than Norton

I use AVG and find it excellent. Also Spybot - free too.

I am going to change to Avast when my Norton subscription expires.I find that Norton is not very good at all.
One of my colleagues really thinks that Avast is far superior to Norton,and he has much better knowledge of computers than myself.
