I'm trying to download iTunes and it just about finishes then gives me a message that says: Service 'iPod service' failed to start. Verify sufficient services to start system services. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

are you sure it said "Verify sufficient services to start system services."

and not..

"Verify sufficient privileges to start system services."

if so then login in with a windows account that has administrative rights and try again.
