Is it a digital recorder?

Its got hdmi so I'm hoping so. I've read reviews and other people have picked up freeview.
Unless your dvd has a built in freeview tuner then I am sorry to say you won't be able to record freeview channels. Hdmi does not mean it is freeview capable.
What is the model number?
If your freeview only has one output (i.e. one scart connection), you connect that to your recorder (which, i hope, has two scart sockets), then connect from your recorder to your TV.

That way, you should be able to pick up the freeview signal on both TV and recorder.

Assuming you wont be able to record your freeview on your DVD recorder, as merlin did above, is a bit presumptious.
Thank you MrBounty, I stand corrected. We all learn fom our mistakes. The trouble with recording from the tv via the scart lead is that the tv has to be switched on and the correct channel showing. With a dvd recorder with built in freeview you just have to set the recorder via the epg.

Thank you all. I do have 2 scarts so should be ok - most of what I'd be recording would be normal tv anyway but it's good to know if I missed something I can record from such as itv2 etc.
Thanks again
If you normally record from normal 'terrestial' tv you should be able to programme dvd recorder to record desired programme. Assuming that you have got everything connected up correctly.
What is model number????
Question Author
Model No: DVDR24HD250
Have looked on various web sites and it appears not to have freeview, have found some but they had F at end of model number so guess that means it as freeview tuner. You should not have any problems recording terrestial channels assuming you have aerial input connected to recorder then from recorder to tv (should not affect freeview tuner in tv). If you have aerial connected direct into tv then you will need scart cable to record programmes (as per MrBounty)

Have managed to connect everything up and can now watch freeview but can't record it. My freeview box has 2 scarts my tv 1 and recorder 2. How do I connect them so I can record?
