Suspicious telephone numbers

I constantly receive a landline phone call from a number 0070509.
I have tried ignoring, and answering which produces a virtually inaudible voice.

Can anyone tell me what this may be?

Probably an automated sales call telling you that you've won a caribbean cruise if you sign up to their scam.

I get these often I just ignore them.. I used to think it was something important at first.. But now I just ignore them

thank you squarebear. I did wonder with the barely audible background voice but the number is unlike any other I have come across

Unless you're expecting a call from Russia or Kazakhstan (which are the two countries with numbers starting with 007 when dialled from the UK), you can safely ignore the calls.

Call centres ring several numbers at the same time and answer the first one that answers. The rest of the numbers go to the bottom of the list to be rung again in the future. So don't be in too much of a hurry to answer the phone especially at odd times when you are not expecting a call.
